Hamilton frustrated by McLaren strategy errors
di StaffApril 10, 2011
Lewis Hamilton said McLaren's decision to bring him in early in the opening stages of the Malaysian GP put him at a disadvantage for the rest of the race.
The McLaren driver was second and closing on Sebastian Vettel. But Hamilton struggled to handle the hard tires and eventually finished in seventh place after an extra stop.
“My tires were finished,” said Hamilton. “We came back too early, then I had to come back even earlier later, we always came back before the others and in the end my tires were really worn out. It's one of those days that you have to accept and move on."
“This is racing, I started second and did everything I could to keep up, but I don't really have much to say” concluded a visibly disappointed Hamilton.
