Hamilton is dissatisfied: “We made a mistake with the setup”

After winning convincingly in Montreal, Lewis Hamilton surprised everyone with his absence from the Top 10 in FP2 of the European GP.

The McLaren driver finished the morning free practice session in eighth place and the afternoon session in 14th. “I wasn't happy with the car today, but you can't always go well”, the Englishman told Sky Sports News. “I think this season we've been pretty good at finding the right balance throughout the Friday practice sessions and we have smooth days, but today wasn't one of those days.”.

McLaren worked on the setup suitable for the race, but if the pace was good with the soft tyres, the Mediums did not satisfy Hamilton, who at the end of FP2 returned to the pits after just one lap run on the harder compounds. “I think we know what the problem is and as soon as we make all the changes to the car I'm pretty sure we'll be better tomorrow. During the night the problems will be corrected by the mechanics", concluded the Briton.
