Hamilton disappointed with fourth place in Türkiye

Lewis Hamilton is disappointed with McLaren's result in the Turkish Grand Prix at the Istanbul circuit. The English driver reached the finish line fourth after starting from the same position.

Lewis Hamilton: “I started quite well but I made a mistake on the first lap and lost a lot of places at turn three, when I was trying to get close to Webber. That was the decisive moment of my afternoon: if I hadn't finished behind Fernando [Alonso] and Jenson, I think I could have achieved a third place, perhaps fought for a second place.”

“The battle with Jenson was fun, as always, but the fight ruined my rear tires and so my strategy changed to four stops.”

“Considering the time I lost in my third stop, I think we recovered quite well. I don't think it would have made a big difference to our finishing position.”

“We are definitely capable of doing better than today. – But starting in the fourth and sixth and finishing in the fourth and sixth was a good recovery."
