Haas, Grosjean: “It's important to reach the points in Austin”

Bittersweet day for Haas GP at their home Grand Prix. In fact, among the bends of the beautiful Circuit of the Americas, Romain Grosjean managed to bring the American team back into the points after a series of rather disappointing results (Haas had been missing from the top ten since the Austrian Grand Prix). Different story however for Esteban Gutierrez, out halfway through the race due to a broken front left wheel disc. A problem for which Brembo has already apologized in a statement this morning.

Here are the words of Esteban Gutierrez: “The home match was quite disappointing. I really want to thank everyone for their unconditional support and it was really a shame to end the Austin GP like this. Everything started well, optimizing everything we had done in qualifying. Among other things, we also managed to make an excellent start and the first part of the race was really positive. Unfortunately our race ended due to a brake problem. It's not what we wanted and we have to continue working to arrive in Mexico ready."

Here are Romain Grosjean's impressions: “The final result in the race wasn't bad. Unfortunately I had a disastrous first lap, but as a team we managed to limit the damage by changing our strategy during the race. We chose a much more aggressive path to get a good result and in the end it went well. I'm very happy for this and I want to thank all the guys at the wall. I must also say that in some circumstances we were lucky as some cars in front of us retired, but in the end it's part of the game. It was nice to get back into the points in our home Grand Prix and we are very satisfied with this."
