Haas F1, the race for seats is tightening: setback for Patrick and Rossi

We're six months away from 2016 and with Haas Racing busy searching the best pilots to debut next season on their Formula 1 car, the list of candidates who can aspire to the seats made available by the stars and stripes team is starting to narrow. The future Haas team principal, Gunther Steiner, has effectively closed the doors to two candidates, Danica Patrick e Alexander Rossi. The two American drivers would eventually make their debut as rookies in the series despite their experience in motorsports.

Steiner has hinted that the American team is looking for drivers with experience behind them racing experience of Formula 1, a quality that could be vital for the team itself, especially to grow the single-seater: “We need drivers who they know what they are doing, we are a rookie team but we cannot afford to be a driving school,” he concluded.

Haas has every intention of arriving in Formula 1 to have his say. Having effectively excluded two potential candidates for the seats, the rumors still remain strong that they would like a pilot from Ferrari nursery, technical partner of Haas, on the American single-seater with Jean-Eric Vergne ahead of Esteban Gutierrez while for the second seat the most popular names at the moment are those of Nico Hulkenberg, who in all likelihood has little chance of joining Ferrari if the Red team does not renew Raikkonen's contract, Romain Grosjean, who could decide to leave Lotus e Felipe Nasr who just recently complained about Sauber's inability to make progress in performance.
