Gutierrez: “Hungary physically demanding”

For the Haas pair, tire degradation will be a key aspect in the race

Gutierrez: “Hungary physically demanding”

At Silverstone he retired due to a knocked out transmission and a miserable sixteenth place. From Hungary the Haas he hopes to be able to return home with a double placement, if not in the top ten, at least in the vicinity.

“I have always loved this track. I know it was recently resurfaced but until 2015 it was bumpy. Being slow, it requires good handling of the car and great concentration on the part of the driver. Another aspect not to be underestimated is tire degradation. Overtaking is difficult, however I remember with pride my maneuver on Felipe Massa in 2013 at turn 4. My favorite section is the second for its fluidity” – he stated Romain Grosjean
.

“It is usually very hot in Budapest so there is a risk of the tires overheating. As far as I'm concerned, I'm rather attached to the Hungarian track which saw me get on a Formula BMW for the first time in 2007 after years of karting. The layout is interesting and stressful from a physical point of view, not allowing breaks. For overtaking I would say that the best area is the first change of direction and the approach to the second. You need to know how to manage the covers well and immediately set the time in qualifying. Overall I love the last corner, the chicane and the 11” – the words of Esteban Gutierrez.
