Thursday statements

Marcus Ericsson (Sauber): «50 races for me here, not bad, come on. With the team I think we are moving in the right direction, there are new people within the team with fresh ideas. Arriving here in Singapore will be interesting to understand how well our new package of updates will work, here in the full version, which we started introducing after the summer break. In general, the downforce will have to be increased."

Felipe Nasr (Sauber): «This is always a really challenging track, really demanding on both the car and the driver and I feel that the tires will play a key role this weekend. By understanding how they will react, how long they can last and how the car's behavior will vary, you can make a difference. Several things will happen and fortunately we are in a position to profit from them. I can't tell you where I'll be in 2017, but here at Sauber things are moving in the right direction."

Jolyon Palmer (Renault): «It's true, I beat my teammate 3 times out of 4 in the last races, I'm not doing badly but every opportunity from here on represents for me a real chance to show what I can do and that I deserve this seat. I will take advantage of this good moment for me to be able to do well on a track that I like and which I think will suit our car better than the previous ones. We need speed and therefore power from our power unit, as well as good mileage in slow corners and when exiting curbs."

Sergio Perez (Force India): «Our target is to close the gap with the Williams, who have made the difference in the last two races. Singapore is a unique place, a night race that upsets your routine, you wake up late and go to sleep just as late. And then the track is quite physically and mentally demanding, you have to avoid any type of contact to get to the end of the race. I was hoping to be in a position to say where I'll race next year, but there have been some delays. I hope to be able to announce it before the next race."

Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull Racing): «I think we will have a good chance for the Top Ten here. I'm not joking, finishing on points is already a certainty. This is naturally the track that most resembles Monaco, where I scored pole position. After that weekend a few things started to go better: we worked as best as we could on Sundays and in the last few races my mood remained happy and positive. I don't want to put pressure on myself or the team, but it's obvious that we want to win. I believe that we are a group of winners and if there is something that puts even a little pressure on us we will not give it any weight. I'm ready and excited, we'll see what happens."

Valtteri Bottas (Williams): «It's true, next year I will have a new teammate but at the moment I don't even know if it will be at Williams or not, since I haven't had confirmation. In any case, the important thing is that it is fast, because this gives a boost to both of you in bringing out the best. Naturally I have no choice and therefore I hope that whoever arrives within the Team will be OK. It will be a good battle with Force India, as in the previous 6. It depends a lot on the type of track."
