Malaysian Grand Prix: Some drivers criticized the Pirellis in the wet
Sutil: "We don't have enough grip"
Adrian Sutil has asked Pirelli to review its compounds, after describing the current wet tire as "the worst I've ever driven" in Formula 1.
The German failed to perform beyond the first qualifying segment for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix, and told BBC Radio 5 live immediately after the session that the Pirelli wet tires were: "the worst tire I've driven in the wet." .
“Not only did we lose 20-30 percent of downforce due to the regulation, they also gave us the hardest compound available,” Sutil told Autosport.
“They made harder tires, now we have no downforce and no grip.”
“It's like a rally.”
Williams driver Felipe Massa agrees with Sutil's assessment and thinks Pirelli should review its compounds.
“I don't like them like that,” he told Autosport. “You go out on the first lap and it's the best, then you go slower because you lose grip.”
“The degradation in the wet, and the way it behaves in the wet, is not good.”
