The layout of the new Austin Formula 1 track has finally been presented. The track, which will most likely host the US GP starting in 2012, was unveiled by promoter Tavo Hellmund.
The circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke and will have a top speed of 200 mph, a long back straight, and some corners reminiscent of other famous F1 tracks.
“It should be nice,” Hellmund said while looking at the circuit layout. “I think the drivers and fans will like it.”
The track includes three ideal overtaking points, and sections that recall Silverstone's Becketts Curves, the Hockenheim Stadium section and Turkey's Turn 8.
“It will be similar to that giant curve,” Hullmund said of the section that resembles Istanbul.
