di StaffNovember 2, 2010
New doubts about the US Grand Prix which should return to the Formula 1 calendar from 2012 with the new Austin track. Construction is expected to begin in December, but an official document, obtained by the Austin Business Journal, shows that construction will take about 24 months.
According to KXAN Austin News, the news was confirmed by a spokesperson for the F1 project, who said the 24-month period includes planning for construction ahead of the December start.
At the beginning of 2010, Bernie Ecclestone reminded organizer Tavo Hellmund that he risks sanctions if the race does not take place regularly in 2012.
