Singapore GP: Renault in the points with Magnussen

Finally, after many dry races, Renault is back in the points, arriving in tenth position with Kevin Magnussen: an important result, using a very conservative strategy, especially in the first part. An important result for the French team which boosts morale, even if it won't make a big difference for the constructors' classification.

"I am very happy for the whole team and this result must be a boost for all of us. It was a difficult season and we wanted to score points in every race, but it wasn't possible. But we kept fighting and today's result shows why we fight and why we don't give up. The team did very well with the strategy, with the start and with the balance of the car." commented a satisfied Kevin Magnussen.

In the rear, however, Jolyon Palmer, forced to pit early due to a puncture: “It was a difficult race and we had some problems with the brakes. I caught some debris at the start and had a slow puncture. We made a pit stop quite early and this meant that we had to do longer stints than planned. I lost a lot of time behind the Manors and it wasn't possible to pass them on the track. The positive thing about today is that we saw that we are capable of scoring points if everything goes the way we want."
