GP Singapore, Free Practice 3: Vettel still the fastest

Sebastian Vettel achieved the best time in the third free practice session of the Formula 1 Singapore GP. Second time for Lewis Hamilton with McLaren Mercedes, third for Fernando Alonso (Ferrari).

Nico Hulkenberg confirmed Force India's good performance with the fourth time ahead of Kimi Raikkonen's Lotus and the other Ferrari of Felipe Massa. Paul di Resta with the other Force India is seventh ahead of Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) and Bruno Senna (Williams). Michael Schumacher with the other Mercedes closes the top 10.

Initially the McLarens dictated the pace in the first 60 minutes then Webber inserted himself between Button and Hamilton. Then it was Vettel's turn to take the lead with 1.49.614. Alonso, who had only completed one installation lap up to that point, immediately moved up to second place.

Senna was the first to mount the supersofts, momentarily overtaking the Spaniard. With 10 minutes to go all the teams concentrated on simulating qualifying runs.

Webber, among other things, suffered a puncture after contact with the guardrail under the tunnel. Vettel suffered KERS problems but once back on track he lapped in 1.47.947 while Hamilton moved within 3 tenths of a second.

Vitaly Petrov then crashed his Caterham at the penultimate corner causing a red flag.
