GP Singapore, Hamilton in pole position

Lewis Hamilton took pole position in qualifying for the Formula 1 Singapore GP. The Englishman from McLaren preceded Pastor Maldonado (Williams) and Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull). Fourth position on the grid for Jenson Button in the other McLaren, ahead of Fernando Alonso's Ferrari.
Di Resta is sixth with Force India, ahead of Mark Webber's Red Bull, seventh sub-judice. Eighth place was Romain Grosjean with Lotus ahead of the Mercedes of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg.

In Q1 Grosjean achieved the best time and in Q2 he hit the rear of the car at turn 14. The Lotus driver, back on track, then managed to get the fourth fastest time in Q2 behind Hamilton, Vettel and Webber. Errors also for Bruno Senna, who damaged his rear suspension, unlike the Frenchman. In Q2, in addition to the Brazilian, Nico Hulkenberg, Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa, Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne were also eliminated.

Hulkenberg, Raikkonen and Massa were caught at the last minute by the two Mercedes. Kamui Kobayashi was immediately out of Q1 with Sauber, 18th ahead of Vitaly Petrov, Heikki Kovalainen, Timo Glock and Charles Pic. Last row for Narain Karthikeyan and Pedro de la Rosa.

It should be noted that Hamilton also hit the barriers on his fastest lap, without suffering any consequences.
