Request for a new intervention from the Lombardy Region

GP Monza, SIAS President Dell'Orto refuses to resign

As often happens in Italy, those who should resign do not do so. Unable so far to manage a Monza racetrack in crisis, but above all to conclude the negotiation for the renewal with F1, the SIAS President Andrea dell'Orto he stated that he had not the slightest intention of leaving the position.

“I absolutely do not want to abandon my role having been invested with a specific mandate” – his statement during a press conference convened together with the circuit prosecutor Francesco Ferri.

“Despite a very difficult situation, we brought new motorsport events and increased revenues by 13 percent. This proves that the structure is capable of creating value” – he continued.

“As regards the discussions with Ecclestone, I have been outside of them since September, so I wonder why there is someone who sees me as the problem. I have had several meetings in these last hours with Fabrizio Sala and Roberto Maroni. The important thing is that the Region supports our work and is willing to make an additional effort to relaunch the plant” – the conclusion.
