GP Monaco: Maldonado penalized 10 places on the grid
The Venezuelan caused contact with Perez in Free Practice 3
Pastor Maldonado will be penalized by ten places on the grid at the Monaco GP. The Venezuelan was punished by the stewards for a contact with Sergio Perez in the final stages of Free Practice 3 in violation of article 16.1 of the sporting regulations.
The Spanish GP winner caused a stoppage when he ended up in the barriers at the Casino after contact with the Sauber driver on the previous lap.
Perez had moved off the racing line to allow the Williams driver to pass but Maldonado then swerved towards the Sauber as he entered the bend before the tunnel.
Maldonado was also punished for a similar episode at last year's Belgian GP for a contact with Lewis Hamilton.
Just a warning for Nico Hulkenberg for obstructing Perez at the final corner in Free Practice 3.
