Lewis Hamilton will start from pole, the Ferraris are chasing
At the moment the Mexican Grand Prix weekend is smiling at Lewis Hamilton who yesterday took pole position on the track dedicated to the memory of the Rodriguez brothers. Nico Rosberg's twin car number 07 will start alongside the Englishman's W1, which achieved the best performance in 18'704"6.
Second row all Red Bull, with Max Verstappen ahead of Daniel Ricciardo. After an excellent Friday and the first two encouraging qualifying heats, Ferrari got lost along the way, not going beyond the 6th time with Kimi Raikkonen and the 7th with Sebastian Vettel. Nico Hulkenberg's Force India is in front of the two SF16-Hs. The two from Prancing Horse, like the Mercedes duo, will be the only drivers in the top ten to start on soft tyres.
The home drivers are in difficulty: Sergio Perez will only start from box number 12, while Esteban Gutierrez from 17th. Jolyon Palmer's Renault is timeless. The Englishman, who damaged the floor of his car after a jump on the curb in third free practice, did not take part in the qualifying session.
The race will start at 20:00 pm (Italian time).
