Singapore was one of the last truly concrete opportunities for Red Bull to achieve success, as it was a circuit suited to the characteristics of the RB12. Despite this, Ricciardo still hopes to win a race this season: “I always hope I can win, but you have to admit that Singapore was definitely our best chance to get a victory” – commented Daniel -. “I still hope that we can still win, but I think that this year I would have deserved at least one victory. Singapore was a fun race, I did my best and it was a good result for us. I would like to win, but when you come back knowing about having done everything possible, then you must be satisfied, although returning with a victory would certainly have been better."

Since he arrived Max Verstappen at his side, Daniel Ricciardo was forced to make a leap in quality to be able to maintain the role of first driver: “It certainly forced me to take an extra step in terms of driving. I have always felt at the limit and I have always compared myself to Kvyat, from the winter tests to the Russian GP" – said the Australian -. “I already thought I was at my limit, but with Verstappen there was a new challenge. I knew Max brought a lot of hype, but I had never seen his data and I didn't know what he would bring to the team. But I knew he wasn't scared and I saw from the first free practice in Spain that he was at his limit. But it's nice that we push each other."
