Italian GP, Petrov penalized for obstructing Glock
di Staff11 September 2010
Vitaly Petrov will be penalized five places on the grid at the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix for obstructing Timo Glock during qualifying. The Russian driver blocked Glock as he returned to the track, when the Virgin driver began a flying lap.
Glock was forced to slow down, surprised by Petrov's slowness at the first chicane.
The Renault driver, who qualified in 15th position, was penalized five places.
“I can only apologize to him if I hindered him. I didn't see him coming up behind me and I didn't see any blue flag coming out of the pits. With the penalty the race will be even tougher but as we saw in Spa, Sunday is something else and anything can happen” declared Petrov.
