Italian GP, Race: Hamilton wins ahead of a wild Perez

Lewis Hamilton wins the Italian Grand Prix, remaining in first place practically for the entire duration of the Grand Prix. In second place was the surprising Sergio Perez, who started from the middle of the field

At the start Hamilon maintained first place, while Massa overtook Button who, despite an attempt to regain his position at the Roggia chicane, had to follow the Ferrari driver. Schumacher, Vettel, Raikkonen and Kobayashi follow. Alonso immediately gains two positions on Di Resta and Rosberg who instead slips to twelfth place. He suffers the same negative fate as the German Mark Webber who is overtaken by Senna, tenth, Perez, eleventh, and Ricciardo, thirteenth. In the rear there is only a slight clash between Karthikeyan's HRT and Glock's Marussia. In the following laps Alonso continued his recovery, overtaking Kobayashi, Raikkonen and Schumacher in order, the latter at the first chicane. In the middle of the group, Webber seeks a difficult comeback, as does Rosberg, who however has to defend himself from an attacking Bruno Senna, who however on the 8th lap suffers a collision from Paul Di Resta at the Roggia, ending up off the track and thus rejoining behind Webber. The first retirement sees Vergne as the protagonist who spins at the first chicane, jumping over the curb and breaking the suspension. On lap 17 Perez overtakes Raikkonen who is also the first to pit, followed by Rosberg. On lap 18 Hamilton is firmly in the lead: behind him Massa, Button, Vettel, Alonso, Schumacher, Perez, Webber, Kobayashi, Di Resta, Senna, Ricciardo, Hulkemberg, D'Ambrosio, Rosberg. Schumacher stops in the pits, while Felipe Massa is overtaken by Button. On lap 20 the Brazilian from Ferrari makes his stop and finds himself in 11th. Vettel and Alonso stopped on lap 21, exiting almost paired, with the Red Bull returning to the track between the two Reds, behind Massa. On lap 23 it's Webber's turn, while Massa passes Ricciardo who is also overtaken by Vettel and Alonso. It was also Button's turn to stop in the pit lane and he came out in 3rd place ahead of Massa who in the meantime overtook Senna, who, like Perez, second, had not yet stopped. The Williams was soon overtaken by its pursuers Vettel and Alonso. Hamilton makes his pit stop and is second behind Perez. Raikkonen gains a position on Hulkenberg and Rosberg goes straight to the first chicane. In an attempt to overtake Vettel, Alonso's car goes to dirt, but the Spaniard manages to stay on the track. Vettel's maneuver is being investigated. On lap 29 Hamilton regains the lead of the race from Perez who still has to make a pit stop, and Alonso gets rid of Vettel moving up to 5th position. Perez stops on lap 30 and the ranking is as follows: Hamilton, Button, Massa, Alonso, Vettel, Schumacher, Raikkonen, Perez, Rosberg, Webber, Di Resta, Kobayashi, Maldonado, Ricciardo, Senna, Hulkenberg, Kovalainen, Petrov , D'Ambrosio, Pic, Glock, De La Rosa and Karthikeyan. On lap 32 Vettel was penalized with a drive through which was carried out three laps later, putting the German behind Webber in eighth place. In the 34th minute Button withdraws due to a technical problem. On lap 36 Perez passes Raikkonen, but at the next corner the Finn regains his position. At the beginning of the 37th lap the Mexican, who continues to put in very fast laps, catches Raikkonen's Lotus which on the following lap is also overtaken by Rosberg, while the two Red Bulls battle. On lap 40 Alonso overtakes Massa and is second, behind Hamilton who continues his march towards victory without any problems. Behind the first three, Perez is increasingly closer to the Ferraris, while behind them are Raikkone, Vettel, Webber, Di Resta, Kobayashi, Schumacher, Ricciardo, Rosberg, Senna, Hulkenberg, Maldonado, D'Ambrosio, Kovalainen, Petrov, Pic, Glock, De La Rosa, Karthiheyan. On the 44th lap Perez overtakes Massa at the Parabolica, while on the 47th he also overtakes Alonso at the Ascari curve. On the following lap the Mercedes overtake Di Resta (Schumacher) and Kobayashi (Rosberg) respectively. Vettel retires shortly after the finish line due to a technical problem with the alternator, already reported previously. Webber makes a mistake at the Ascari and spins, being overtaken by Rosberg and Di Resta, and then slows down noticeably on the following lap, retiring. Nico Hulkenberg also abandoned the race and returned to the pit lane due to technical problems. At the finish line Hamilton wins, followed by Perez, Alonso and Massa.
