British GP, Free Practice 3: Vettel precedes Webber and Alonso

Red Bull still dominates in free practice for the British Grand Prix. In the third free practice session at Silverstone, Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time ahead of teammate Mark Webber. Third time for Fernando Alonso's Ferrari.

For Red Bull, however, there was also a scare when Sebastian Vettel's car lost its nose on the Hangar Straight on the German's last run.

Vettel had already scored a 1.130.958, ousting Alonso from first position and seemed capable of improving further at the time of the inconvenience. Vettel returned to the pits but his time remained unbeaten.

Problems also for Alonso who parked his Ferrari in the garage in the last minutes due to a technical problem. Nico Rosberg showed an encouraging pace with Mercedes ahead of Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and Robert Kubica (Renault).

A low-key session for McLaren after removing the new diffuser: Lewis Hamilton was only seventh, Jenson Button even 12th.

Michael Schumacher in the other Mercedes is eighth, ahead of Pedro de la Rosa (Sauber) and Rubens Barrichello (Williams).

Gearbox problems for Sutil (Force India) and hydraulic problems for Trulli (Lotus). Timo Glock instead suffered a problem with the accelerator of his Virgin.
