GP Japan, provisional starting grid
The updated grid with the penalties imposed
di Staff6 October 2012
The FIA has published the provisional starting grid for the Japanese Formula 1 GP. At Suzuka several drivers suffered penalties after qualifying. Jenson Button dropped from third to eighth place due to a gearbox replacement. For the same reason also Nico Hulkenberg, who qualified tenth, fifteenth. Thanks to the penalties, Felipe Massa therefore enters the top 10. Michael Schumacher, as a result of the ten-place grid penalty received for the accident in Singapore with Vergne, will start 23rd.
