British GP – Third and fifth times for Ferrari in free practice

Third and ninth time for the Scuderia Ferrari drivers in the second free practice session of the British Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso stopped the clock at a time of 1'35”244 and completed 32 laps. Kimi Raikkonen, however, had to settle for the ninth best result, achieved with a time of 1'36”554. For him the passes completed were 29.

In the second session both drivers mounted the Medium tyres, which is the softest of the two brought to England by Pirelli. Fernando showed that he was quickly at ease even with these tires and made the most of the track's rubber, which increased compared to the morning. At the end the Spaniard also simulated a long run with good times. Kimi, on the other hand, was unable to find a good feeling and will have to work further to identify a balance that allows him to push to the maximum.

The best time was once again achieved by Mercedes. This time the fastest was Lewis Hamilton who preceded his teammate Rosberg in 1'34”508. Behind Alonso the Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel.
