Belgian GP: difficult Friday at Renault
Contrasting opinions from the two drivers on the balance of the car
Was a complicated Friday for Renault, in search of a balance that has partly been found and partly not. In fact, the two drivers had conflicting opinions regarding the balance of the car: Kevin Magnussen quite dissatisfied, especially due to the lack of grip, while Jolyon Palmer seems to have found a good footing to work on.
“We are not where we want to be and it looks like we are going into a very difficult qualifying tomorrow. Tire degradation seems to be the most important problem, but I think everyone is suffering from it” – said Kevin Magnussen -. "The balance is not as I would like and we lack grip at the rear, so we'll take a look at everything now. I think we can progress, and we will do our best as always. We have the tools to improve and anything can happen in the race, so you have to give everything you have."
Palmer has a different opinion: “We had some problems, but we worked as we wanted. I didn't manage to make the last run, but everything was fine. We didn't lose much in the afternoon after all. The car looks okay and I think we've found a good base, so tomorrow it's about making some improvements to improve performance” – said the Englishman -. “We knew we would be super fast here in Spa this weekend, but we can still do well. We will work hard this weekend to come back stronger tomorrow".
