Korean GP, Alonso first and Massa third on the unpredictable Sunday in Yeongam

Fifth victory of the season for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, all achieved by Fernando Alonso. Thanks to the success in the first edition of the Korean Grand Prix, the Prancing Horse brought its total victories to 215 in 810 Grands Prix contested. For Fernando this is success number 26 in 157 races.

Stefano Domenicali: “First of all, calm and chalk! Today was a fantastic day, which turned the situation around in the Drivers' championship and which, albeit partially, reopened the situation in the Constructors' championship but we know well that the most difficult part begins now. There are two races to be played: we will have to face them with the same ferocious determination that allowed us to make a comeback that many considered impossible. I had already said it many times before but I want to repeat it today too: what matters most in this season finale are the head of the team and the riders, reliability and concentration. This weekend we demonstrated that we know how to do it, even in very particular conditions like those of today. We are facing very strong opponents, in particular a team that has been able to win 14 pole positions out of 17 races: being in this position with only two races ahead is already important. First of all, I want to congratulate our drivers: they were very good, they didn't make the slightest mistake, managing a very stressful race in very difficult conditions. The team worked very well and that little problem at Fernando's pit stop was immediately amortized. As always, thanks must be extended to our commercial and technical partners, starting with Philip Morris, Banco Santander and Shell, which brought a new petrol here that gave us a helping hand. Finally, I want to say that it is an honor to be able to enter the name of Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro in the first line of the roll of honor of the Korean Grand Prix, a country experiencing great growth and a market that will also become important for our road cars.”

Chris Dyer: “Truly a fantastic day, proving how true the saying is that it's never over until it's over! Never give up, we always say it and we have proven it once again. Our drivers did an exceptional job in extremely difficult conditions, with almost zero grip and visibility in the first part of the race. When the race started, after the safety car returned to the pits, we started to maintain a good pace but then there was another neutralization. There we had a bit of bad luck with Fernando who, like in Valencia, was unable to return to the pits immediately and had to do an extra lap before stopping. At the pit stop we had a problem with two wing bolts which made us lose a position compared to Hamilton but then, also due to the pressure that Fernando put on his opponent at the restart, we regained it. Everything went smoothly at that moment for Felipe, who maintained his position. Afterwards both drivers knew how to manage the tires excellently, in particular the Spaniard who was always able to put pressure on Vettel, who then retired. The final phase was very tense because we didn't know if the tires would last until the end: another stop would have compromised the result. In the end this beautiful result arrived: it is difficult to realize that, after everything that has happened this season, Fernando is now leading the world championship! There are two races ahead of us against very strong opponents but we have seen how our car has improved, Grand Prix after Grand Prix. We must continue like this!”
