Chinese GP, Lotus Renault: Petrov closes the top ten on the grid. For Heidfeld starting from the rear

Complicated qualifying for the Lotus Renault drivers in the Chinese Grand Prix. Petrov took the last place in the top ten, while his teammate Nick Heidfeld will start from the back in sixteenth position.

Vitaly Petrov – Pos 10:
“I am very disappointed with what happened after I had just completed a very fast lap which put me in fourth position at the end of Q2. The car lost power and so I stopped on the side of the track. The track was faster and my times improved from this morning, things were going very well. The positive thing is that the car was fast and I hope to be able to do well from P10 on the grid tomorrow.”

Nick Heidfeld – Pos 16:
“It's quite frustrating to start from P16, because I don't think it's a fair reflection of our pace. We intended to do a run on the soft tires in Q2, but the red flag made the final minutes in Q2 very chaotic. It was necessary to be first in the queue, at the end of the pit lane as there wasn't much time to move and cross the line before the end of the session. I managed to do a final lap, but got stuck in traffic and couldn't get a clean lap. As I said, our race pace is definitely better than our grid position, but starting from P16 will not be easy. I think it's a track where you can overtake so I hope I can get a good start, like in the previous two races, and fight for points. “
