Brazilian GP, Force India: Sutil 12th and accident for Liuzzi
Force India achieved a twelfth place and a retirement due to an accident in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Adrian Sutil – Pos 12:
“An exciting race today and I really enjoyed it. After a reasonable start, I did the first part of the race on the harder tires and they worked really well. I thought it would be difficult with the graining, but after 20 laps the car seemed to work better and better and I was able to set some competitive lap times. Then the safety car came out and we changed to the softer compound straight away. Then I tried to get into the zone, but it was very difficult to pass the Toro Rossos as they were incredibly fast on the straight. I managed to at least overtake Buemi and gain a position. From P22 on the grid I think P12 is very positive and I am happy with this result and the performance.
Tonio Liuzzi – retired:
“It was a good race until the accident, we were able to fight with a lot of cars. It was tough on the option tires at the start but then in the middle part of the race I was able to put together some consistent and fast lap times. Unfortunately I had to fight with the brakes throughout the race and then something happened in the second corner, the car slipped and I wasn't able to turn and the car went straight into the barriers. We will look into why this happened and we are sure we fully understand the reasons. I'm fine after the accident, although I'm now looking forward to Abu Dhabi, where I hope to be able to take the fight to Williams.”
