Brazilian GP 2013, Free Practice 1: Rosberg in the lead ahead of Hamilton

Nico Rosberg achieved the best time in the first Free Practice session of the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix. Following him was his teammate Hamilton who preceded Vettel, Button and Alonso. Excellent performance from the young Kvyat who finished in eighth position.

The session started on a wet track with intermittent rain. The first to take to the track was Bianchi with wet tires followed by Gutierrez who however mounted intermediate tyres. Progressively all the drivers took to the track for the installation lap.

The first fastest lap was set by Button, 1:26.184. About 25 minutes from the start Rosberg set the best time of the session, 1:24.781. Little activity on the track. Red Bull ran just one lap on the experimental 2014 tires brought by Pirelli to gather valuable data for next season. In the last half hour the two Red Bulls took to the track for their run on intermediate tyres.
