Mark Webber will be penalized five places on the grid at the Belgian F1 GP for changing his gearbox. The Red Bull Racing driver is currently Fernando Alonso's closest pursuer in the drivers' standings.
A statement from the FIA confirmed that the replacement, which will be completed before the start of Free Practice 3 on Saturday, will result in a penalty.
“Webber finished the race in Budapest and this gearbox replacement occurred before the expiry of five consecutive events,” reads the note.
The gearbox was fitted at the German GP.
