Giovinazzi: “Winning won't be enough to get to F1”
The Italian GP2 driver is ready to compete for a world championship that could guarantee him a place in F1
Many are waiting for him as the promising Italian Formula 1 player. We're talking about Antonio Giovinazzi, a young GP2 talent who will compete for the world championship in the last race in Abu Dhabi.
The eyes of all the fans in our country are focused on him, there have been too many years without an Italian driver in the circus. However, he decided not to get upset and to think only about the present: "I just have to finish what I started."
“Of course, winning will be an important condition but not sufficient in itself to get to Formula 1 – he admitted – the issue is much more complex than it may seem. I'm only thinking about Abu Dhabi."
The pressure on the boy is numerous, also confirmed in a recent interview with Autosprint Angelo Sticchi Damiani, president of Aci: “There is an urgent need to see an Italian driver in F1 again”.
“We are on the eve of the last round of GP2 and our Giovinazzi is about to win despite having debuted in the category only in 2016 – he added – We will all be holding our breath”.
