The Spaniard downplays the problems between the two-time world champion and Cavallino

Genè: “Alonso happy at Ferrari”

Ferrari test driver Marc Genè has played down rumors of a possible divorce between Ferrari and Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard is obviously disappointed by Ferrari's lack of competitiveness and could look for an alternative for 2015 and one of the options is a return to McLaren which will be powered by Honda from next year.

Alonso has not lost hope of winning a third world championship: “It's something I'm working on and hoping for,” he told the BBC. “I'm happy with my two titles, but the third would put me on a list of very important names. I think I can continue enough to win and be competitive for several more years,” added Alonso. “I don't know how many: three, five, seven. I don't think there should be any problems."

According to Genè, Alonso is happy in Maranello: “I think that since 2010 we have seen the best Fernando. In 2010, 2012 and also this year his driving was perfect. He is undoubtedly the best driver in F1 at the moment; the most complete. And it's a shame that this didn't turn into more titles, at least two more. He deserved them. Having said that, he is happy at Ferrari, he couldn't be in a better place."
