Frijns: “Never considered by Red Bull”

Andretti driver Amlin was interviewed by the official Formula E website Robin Frijns he returned to a topic that is thorny for him. Some alleged statements against the energy drink brand that he allegedly made a few years ago and which would have caused him quite a bit of trouble.

“I was talking to a Dutch journalist and when asked why I had never agreed to be part of the youth program of the various Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull I replied that no one had proposed it to me – said the winner of the Formula BMW Europe championships, Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and WSR from 2010 to 2012 – Once again asked about the last team I reiterated that I had not had the chance adding that the stories about the temporary nature of the contracts did not reassure me. In practice, too much pressure and perhaps not even the right one."

“In the following days I read a quote of mine in the newspapers according to which the Austrian group treated the boys like dogs. But I hadn't said those words – added the former tester Clean e Caterham – I know that the journalist who wrote the piece didn't cover racing, but he still spread a lie that caused great chaos and who knows, maybe it even influenced my career. Even though I have trouble remembering his names, I still have him in mind. It was a really frustrating episode."
