Come on Schumi, keep fighting!

Five years. Of course. Five very long years have passed since that cursed December 29, 2013, the day in which the life of Michael Schumacher suffered an unpredictable swerve on the snows of Meribel. A normal day, immersed in the heart of the Christmas holidays, which for the German and his family turned into a real ordeal.

A petty about-face of fate that crowned the life of the seven-time world champion with honor and sporting glory, only to then regain with interest the celebrity that the German deserved on the field during his over twenty-year career. As well as injuries, ironically, almost zero on the track (except for the one suffered at Silverstone in July '99, ed.) unlike a trivial fall on skis which had devastating consequences... sliding doors of destiny.

In recent years, unfortunately, there have been countless rumors about Schumi's state of health which can unfortunately be attributed (most of the time) to the fake news section. A vulgar and unspeakable game, where the rush to clickbait has taken over privacy.

What rekindled hope in this digression of news were the words released by Jean Todt a few weeks ago on the German broadcaster Rtl where the current president of the FIA admitted to having seen the Brazilian GP with Schumacher. Who knows what the German must have thought of the contact between Verstappen and Ocon and of the Dutchman's reaction to the missed victory, which reminded nostalgics of that near brawl in the McLaren garage between David Coulthard and Schumi himself at Spa '98.

Schumacher's experience would have been useful (and not a little!) above all to Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel, his sporting godson, protagonist of a year characterized by lights and shadows. Schumi himself would be the only one capable of using those right words to lift Vettel's morale, having also experienced firsthand those bitter sporting disappointments suffered in his first four years in red.

All that remains for words now, as always, is to cling to hope and prayer. Because Schumacher himself loved to repeat: "You must never give up and keep fighting as long as there is a small, very small, chance."

Come on champion, we are waiting for you. Keep fighting and win this battle!
