Formula One | Mercedes, Wolff: “We want to keep every possibility open for 2019”

In an interview given to the newspaper Sport Bild, Toto Wolff commented on the choice to keep Valtteri Bottas in Mercedes also in the 2018 season, underlining however that in Brackley they want to keep every option open for 2019. The Finn, we remember, has signed a annual contract and has no guarantee of permanence for the next championship. Precisely in this sense, Toto Wolff confirmed a brief meeting with Jos Verstappen in Monza, not closing the door to a possible agreement within a few years.

Here are the words of Toto Wolff: “We are very happy with Valtteri and for this reason we have extended the current agreement until the 2018 season. However, we do not want to preclude ourselves from any possibility for 2019. We will analyze all the options and choose the most congenial one.”
