Formula 1 | Zhou in Alfa Romeo completes the lineup for the 2022 season

With the official arrival of Guanyu Zhou in Alfa Romeo in place of Antonio Giovinazzi, heading to Formula E with Dragon Penske, the starting line-up that we will see from the Bahrain GP has been officially completed, as well as in the pre-season tests, scheduled for next March. After the much chatter of the last few months, especially concerning the medium and low ranking teams, each team has made its lineup official for next year, with pleasant confirmations, obvious promotions, disappointing farewells and surprising returns.

Starting from the top areas, Red Bull and Ferrari have chosen to reiterate their confidence in this year's line-up: the Red Bull will once again bet on the "freshness" of Charles Leclerc and the concreteness of Carlos Sainz, while the Austrian team will focus on the experience of “Checo” Perez and, who knows, the new world champion Max Verstappen. The same goes for McLaren and Alpine, given that the former will continue with the proven Daniel Ricciardo-Lando Norris duo, while the latter will focus on the talent of Fernando Alonso and the desire for redemption on the part of Esteban Ocon, author of a great first part of the season but then fell into "silence" after the sensational victory in Hungary. Aston Martin (Sebastian Vettel-Lance Stroll), Haas (Mick Schumacher-Nikita Mazepin) and AlphaTauri (Pierre Gasly – Yuki Tsunoda) also focused on the path of continuity.

As for the news, however, the presence of George Russell within Mercedes stands out, with the Englishman who will join the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and will finally have the chance to battle with a "world championship" package. Valtteri Bottas will make room for him within the World Champion team, heading to Alfa Romeo in place of Kimi Raikkonen (retirement).

Finally, for Williams, Jost Capito has chosen to focus on the talent of Alex Albon to cope with the "heavy" absence of Russell. The Thai, after his experience in Red Bull and the positive year in the DTM, will take to the track with the aim of making Marko&Company think again. At his side Nicholas Latifi.
