Formula 1 | Williams, Vowles admits borderline development for the FW46

Formula 1 Williams Vowles – Interviewed by the British media, James Vowles talked about the development work carried out by the team on the new FW46, the car that Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant will take to the track in the 2024 Formula 1 world championship, specifying how the team has chosen the riskiest path, daring and not a little in terms not only of technologies, but also of the very concept of the single-seater. A necessary change of pace, as the Team Principal himself admitted, which aims to guarantee the team a package capable of consistently competing for the top positions in the rankings.

Vowles admits Williams' change of pace

“We are pushing everything to the limit with the car. The chassis technology is different, some of the other technologies are quite different from what we've done before. These changes are huge for an organization, absolutely huge. We are beyond where we wanted to be, but this situation required a compromise from a timing perspective. We took risks, it's true, and we chose to take to the track for a filming day in Bahrain, sacrificing the Silverstone shakedown. We could have done it, but in the end we opted for factory work. Bahrain will be a good opportunity to begin the work that we are all ready to face."
