Formula 1 | Williams, Stroll: “Without the rain it will be a difficult weekend for us”
Sirotkin: "We're trying a lot of things, I'm quite confident we can improve"
Usual Friday at the back for Williams, which also in Hungary seems destined to experience a weekend far from the positions that count. Many tests were carried out on the FW41 by Lance stroll e Sergey sirotkin, few, timesheet in hand, the perceptible improvements: these are the sensations of the two drivers from the Grove team at the end of the first two free practice sessions at the Hungaroring.
STROLL LANCES
FP1: 14th, 1:20.012 (+2.399) – 33 laps
FP2: 18th, 1:19.645 (+2.811) – 45 laps
“It was the usual Friday where we collected data, information and all that kind of stuff. We explored the front wing a bit and worked on the rear one. We had the same wing as Silverstone, we looked at it and made some corrections: now it seems more stable. I think the rain would give us some opportunities: without the water it will be a difficult weekend. I like this circuit, it's one of my favourites. It reminds me a bit of Melbourne and those types of tracks, because there isn't much margin for error and it's quite fun.".
SERGEY SIROTKIN
FP1: 19th, 1:20.307 (+2.694) – 28 laps
FP2: 20th, 1:19.770 (+2.936) – 45 laps
“As expected, both sessions were quite difficult today. I'm still pretty calm because we're trying a lot of things. There is a lot of work going on on the car, so it is normal that some things are better than others. We have some things clear, others we are still struggling with. It was like this also in Germany after the Friday sessions: I knew that we had done a good program there and tried many things, but last week too the feeling wasn't good, as it was today. Once everything was examined, however, the performance on Saturday improved. I'm pretty confident we can do it again tomorrow. For now, it's been a productive day: we just have to analyze everything.".
