Formula 1 | Williams, Stroll disappointed: “It will be difficult to go beyond Q1”

Another Friday in the rear for the Williams in China. Particularly complicated day for Lance stroll, which finished both sessions in last place; more on the ball, however, Sergey sirotkin, whose feeling with the FW41 seems to be improving. On the official website of the Grove team, the two drivers commented on the two sessions in Shanghai.

Lance stroll
FP1: 20th, 1:37.277 (+3.278) – 28 laps
FP2: 20th, 1:37.147 (+3.665) – 19 laps
“We had some difficult FP2s. In FP1 we were on medium tyres, while in FP2 I made a mistake in the first run and went off the track. I did a good lap in the second run, but then I lost the car and so I wasn't able to set a time. Then the race simulation seemed pretty decent. The car seems to be a little better on the ultrasofts, like in Australia, but we are still at the bottom of the table. I think it will be difficult to go beyond Q1 again.".

Sergey sirotkin
FP1: 15th, 1:36.691 (+2.692) – 31 laps
FP2: 16th, 1:35.340 (+1.858) – 31 laps
“It was difficult, but we didn't expect it to be easy. We know where we are and we know there is a lot of work to do. We are not the fastest car, but the way we are working is good. We tried a couple of interesting things in the morning and in FP2. The long runs were a bit confusing with traffic and rain, so it wasn't the most productive afternoon. Personally, I'm quite happy: both tomorrow and in the race things could change. However, I am happy with my progress and that of the team.".
