Formula 1 | Williams, plan B if Sargeant doesn't get the Super License

Everything will also depend on Haas's decision: Schumacher, Hulkenberg and Giovinazzi ready to land at Grove if necessary

Formula 1 | Williams, plan B if Sargeant doesn't get the Super License

During the United States Grand Prix weekend, Logan Sargeant participated in the first free practice session with Williams, a team ready to hire him for next season in place of Nicholas Latifi, as confirmed by Jost Capito, team principal and CEO of the Grove team in Saturday's press conference. There is one thing, however: the American driver has not yet obtained the Super License, which should arrive if he were to finish the Formula 2 season in the top six.

Nothing that difficult according to the points in the standings, but in the last outings in the "cadet" category, the American has had several retirements, and for this reason Williams have already made moves for a possible replacement: “Yes, we have a plan B in place just in case – confirmed Jost Capito. But I won't name any names and I won't give any clues about it. There are some riders out there without contracts, others who are very good and have a Super License, so we're good, we won't be unprepared."

The names are the usual ones, and almost all of them are linked to the future of the seat that will be in Haas, so one of Mick Schumacher, Nico Hulkenberg and Antonio Giovinazzi could land at Grove in the event that Sargeant does not win those points necessary for the Super License in the last weekend in Abu Dhabi, the one where the starting grid for the next Formula 1 season will most likely be completed.
