Formula 1 | Williams, Massa: “Ready to race again”
"Bottas? I hope he can get a lot of satisfaction"
In an interview given during the last Race of Champions, Felipe Massa commented on his return to Formula One after Valtteri Bottas' move to Mercedes, underlining how the call from Claire Williams was totally unexpected. The talented Paulista explained that he feels motivated by this new challenge, especially on a physical level, and that he will do his utmost to help the team develop a single-seater that will feature several innovations compared to last season's.
Here are the words of Felipe Massa: “The call from Claire Williams was surprising, but accepting was not easy. The last Grands Prix were exciting and saying goodbye to Brazil like that, well... I think it will stay with me for life, but my intention wasn't to hang up my helmet and I feel I can still give a lot to this world. I'm motivated and training hard for the new cars. Everything will be completely different and we should create a new driving style in "just" eight days. It's a huge challenge both on a mental and physical level, especially physical, and it will be interesting to see the values on the track."
On Bottas he instead added: “I know him well and he will do a great job at Mercedes. He's a talented guy and I hope he can get a lot of satisfaction with the car that has been at the top of Formula One for three years."
