Formula 1 | Williams, Latifi takes them from the debutant de Vries in Monza

The one who didn't have a good time over the weekend in Monza was certainly Nicholas Latifi. In fact, the Canadian Williams driver took a beating from his teammate and Formula 1 debutant, Nyck de Vries. The Dutchman was thrown into the car in a hurry just before PL3 due to the appendicitis diagnosed in Albon, who underwent emergency surgery a few hours later. The Canadian, who started tenth in the race thanks to the penalties of others, two positions behind de Vries, even qualified in Q2 and could not stand the comparison with his teammate. According to him, several events have played against him, but it now seems clear that his future in Formula 1 is far from certain, suitcase permitting.

“My race was compromised right from the start – Latifi said. I was stuck in the middle of some cars and I tried to avoid damage: many of them crossed the first chicane without receiving any penalties. The pit stop was slow and I couldn't play for anything. The goal was to maintain the starting position to have a fighting chance, but that didn't happen. We were fast on the straight but I also had difficulty being fast in the corners. We hope to do better in Singapore."
