Formula 1 | Vandoorne snubs McLaren's growth: "I now work for Mercedes"

Interviewed by the newspaper AS during the last Sanya ePrix, Stoffel Vandoorne snubbed the growth of McLaren highlighted during the Australian Grand Prix, underlining how his only focus, at the moment, is the performance of Mercedes.

The Belgian from the HWA team, in fact, preferred not to dedicate his attention to the performances of Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz, highlighting how the Woking team is now a closed chapter in his career in motorsport.

“I didn't watch McLaren's performance in Australia,” said Stoffel Vandoorne during the Sanya ePrix. “Now I work for Mercedes and I am only focused on their performance. Precisely in this sense I would say that it went very well."

On his commitment to Formula E he added: “This is where I want to have a future. Next year HWA will become Mercedes and I want to be part of this project. My goal is to become champion with this team."
