Formula 1 | Symonds has no doubts: “We will see internal combustion engines for a long time to come”

Speaking at a conference on energy efficiency at the Motorsport Industry Association, Pat Symonds spoke about the validity of internal combustion engines, underlining how this solution will also be confirmed in future units.

In fact, despite the many changes dictated by pollution, Symonds believes that the current system still has numerous advantages, an aspect that will overshadow, at least for the moment, a possible transition to 'full electric' propulsion.

“The chances of seeing an internal combustion engine for a long time to come are very high,” said Pat Symonds. “Maybe it could be hydrogen, but in any case the system will be the same”.

On electric vehicles he added: “There is nothing wrong with this technology, but it is not the ideal solution for everyone.”
