Formula 1 | Sprint Qualifying, good first for Ferrari at Silverstone
Race scheduled for 16.00pm
Positive opinion, at least after the heat, for the first Sprint Qualifying in the history of Formula 1. The 17 laps that defined the starting grid of the 72nd British Grand Prix valid for the World Championship offered spectacle and emotions for the Silverstone public and for all viewers. For Scuderia Ferrari the balance is bittersweet: Charles confirmed his fourth position on the starting grid while Carlos, despite being one of the protagonists of the afternoon with his overtaking, lost a couple of positions considering what happened after a contact with Russell in the first excited phases of the race.
Comeback. Carlos had in fact fallen to 19th place but this did not mean he lost heart and in the short space of twelve laps he made seven overtaking moves, climbing up to eleventh place. From here the Spaniard will line up at the start tomorrow, in what will essentially be a continuation of today's race, with the knowledge that he has the potential to move up the rankings again.
Directions. And precisely in view of tomorrow, the team was able to collect important data this afternoon both in terms of the absolute competitiveness of the car and in relation to tire management. From what we saw today, the Grand Prix - with temperatures expected to rise further - promises to be very difficult and close but also very spectacular.
