Formula 1 | Red Bull, Verstappen curious to discover the values: "I can't wait to fly to Australia and start racing again"

Interviewed by the Red Bull website shortly before flying to Melbourne, Max Verstappen spoke about the next Australian Grand Prix, the opening round of the 2019 Formula 1 world championship, underlining how the entire team is ready to reveal the cards after the latest tests Barcelona.

Despite the arrival of Honda and Pierre Gasly's accidents during the eight days of work in Spain, the Austrian team managed to put together a good package, especially as regards the interaction between the new Honda power unit and the chassis of the RB15.

Melbourne is an interesting weekend, given that we are talking about the first race of the season and no one really knows the levels at stake, especially after the regulation change. We also have a new power unit."

On the characteristics of the Australian track he added: “Albert Park is an interesting track. There are many bumpy areas and we drivers face some fast corners, which is why a well-balanced car is necessary. Overtaking is not easy, given that there are no long straights, and this will create a problem in terms of race pace."

Finally, conclusion on the tests in Barcelona: “Our performances seemed promising to me and we hope to be competitive from the start of the year. Overall I think we have a pretty good package."
