Formula 1 | Red Bull, Marko analyzes this first part of the season: "We lost a lot of points"

In an interview given to the columns of Auto Motor Und Sport, Helmut Marko spoke about this first part of the championship concluded by Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, underlining how several points were lost due to reliability problems and driver errors.

An irritating situation that took the Austrian Scuderia far from Ferrari and Mercedes in the constructors' championship standings. Marko, precisely in this sense, is confident in a much more concrete second part of the season, making the most of the potential of the RB14.

Here are the words of Helmut Marko: “We have already lost too many points and this irritates us. We could have won in Bahrain if Daniel hadn't encountered that problem and the same goes for Baku. As we recently demonstrated in Shanghai and Monaco, Ricciardo and Verstappen can count on a good car.”

“The RB14 has great cornering speed and excellent traction, not to mention the fact that we manage the tires superbly”, he added. “Our real handicap is qualifying: we don't have enough pace and we suffer from speed on the long straights. We hope to improve this factor with the engine upgrade that Renault will bring to Canada."
