Formula 1 | The new Ferrari SF71H presented in Maranello
Entirely red livery for the new car from the Scuderia di Maranello
With an online presentation published on its official website and on all social channels, Ferrari has unveiled the design of the new SF71-H, the car with which Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel will attack the next Formula One world championship. The Maranello team, as expected, he chose not to carry out a revolution, improving an already excellent basic package like the 2017 one.
Mattia Binotto and Simone Resta's staff have completely confirmed the configuration of the nose, re-presenting the bulb on the front of the car. Lots of work on the bellies (Ferrari has reduced the dimensions of the power unit, creating a very "streamlined" line. Ed.) and on the side deflectors. In addition to the new features under the hood, in fact, the Scuderia di Maranello sought to improve aerodynamic efficiency, pushing especially on the underperforming areas of 2017. The layout of the ventilation openings and the fin has been confirmed, even if, as with all the cars presented so far, the latter follows the line of the bonnet and appears less voluminous.
As regards the livery, however, Ferrari has chosen to completely abandon white, bringing back a red similar to that of the 2007/2008 two-year period. The chromatic effect makes the car truly eye-catching and the novelty of the grey, present in the rear fin, gives a pleasant effect to the human eye. Note that Ferrari chose to paint the Halo, bringing it in line with the entire graphics of the car.
The push rod system at the front and the pull rod at the rear have been confirmed. We remind you that Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will have the opportunity to test the car on the track as early as February 25th for a filming day session. The Scuderia will prepare the car in anticipation of the first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
