Formula 1 | New position in FIA for Jan Monchaux, ex Alfa Romeo Sauber
The Frenchman will join Nikolas Tombazis in the single-seater department
With a press release forwarded exactly at the moment in which the Ferrari presented the SF-24, i.e. at 12.01 on 13 February, the FIA he has appointed Jan Monchaux as technical director within the single-seater department. In his role, the Frenchman will oversee the department that manages the current technical issues of Formula 1, as well as all future technical regulations and will report to Nikolas Tombazis, director of single-seaters of the International Federation. The transalpine engineer has vast experience among formula 1, WEC e DTM, and it comes fromAlfa Romeo Sauber, today F1 Stakes, in the role of technical director.
A new adventure
Tombazis: “I am happy to welcome Jan to the FIA. He will play a very important role in the technical department and in defining the future regulations of the International Federation. Jan's arrival will strengthen our extensive technical expertise."
Monchaux: “I am very happy to join the FIA, I now look forward to the new challenges that this role brings. I have worked on the competitor side for many years, but now I have the opportunity to help shape the future of the sport with the governing body, and that is a prospect I relish.”
