Formula 1 | Norris places maximum trust in Brown and Stella: “I believe in their changes”

Waiting to see him on the track in the first free practices (live starting from 3.30 on Sky Sport F1 HD, channel 207 of the satellite broadcaster), Lando Norris promoted with flying colors the choices made by Zak Brown and Andrea Stella for the future of McLaren, specifying how the team's management - despite the many shocks faced in the last six months - is doing its utmost to guarantee its drivers not only a competitive car, but also a structure capable of competing on equal terms with Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull and Aston Martin.

A 360° job - started with Andreas Seidl and which is ongoing with the current Team Principal, namely Stella - which will concern not only the organization of resources (the latest arrival of "weight" is that of David Sanchez from Ferrari) , but also the infrastructure, in particular the wind tunnel and the simulator. Both facilities are under construction and should be operational by the summer, just in time for the development of the 2024 car.

“I believe that as a driver, as well as the person who is driving what comes from all this, I have to have trust and confidence in the people who run the team, namely Zak and Andrea,” said the McLaren Englishman. “I still have a lot of faith in them and in the choices they have made for the future of the team.”

Andrea has never held the role of Team Principal, but from what I have seen in recent months I would say that he has adapted well to the role. I haven't had many Team Principals during my Formula 1 career, but I have to say that he is very good. For some, his attitude impressed me. So I have faith in the changes and their beliefs. I share them."

Furthermore, the Briton spoke about the new wind tunnel and the simulator, which should come into operation between spring and summer: "The simulator is that final piece of the puzzle that is always used before bringing an update."

“When things are a little outdated or don't give the right feeling it's always difficult to say I would give feedback on the direction taken. But I think for me a lot of it has to do with the staff. I'm not even the best person to say who's great and who's not anyway,” she concluded.
