Formula 1 | Montreal ready to redo its make-up: the design of the new paddock presented

Thirty years after the last structural intervention, Montreal is ready to redo its make-up, changing the entire pit lane and paddock area. In fact, in a press conference organized by the managers of the facility named after Gilles Villeneuve, the project with which the city of Montreal aims to relaunch the city circuit located on Notre-Dame Island, now considered "obsolete" for new standards imposed on the International Automobile Federation.

In fact, to catch up with the main competitors, the Canadian government has allocated 30 million euros which, combined with the 16 million coming from private funds, will be used to redo the entire pit lane area. The new building will consist of three floors where the garages, the race management offices, the podium and a panoramic terrace reserved for the Paddock Club will be inserted. The structure will be equipped with a wooden roof and, as expected, will be completely self-sufficient given that a very modern photovoltaic system will be installed.

Changes will also be made in the backbox and in the hospitality areas on which the teams will rely. A very ambitious project with which Canada aims to confirm its commitment within the world calendar. The event in Montreal, in fact, is one of the most followed and the growing attention of Canadians towards Formula One only increases the interests of the Circus in North America.

The modernization works will begin immediately after the 2018 edition, only to end in April of the following year, shortly before the 2019 edition.
