Formula 1 | The entry ceremony of the drivers onto the grid has been modified to favor the TVs

The FIA World Council, which met yesterday in Manila, decided to change the entry procedure for drivers onto the grid, underlining that they will have to go to their cars approximately ten minutes before the national anthem of the host country.

This move was requested by Liberty Media over the last few weeks and was promoted by the Federation to ensure that television stations around the world can have a few more minutes for interviews and quick impressions just before the green light.

Until the last Monaco Grand Prix, we remember, the pit lane was closed twenty minutes before the start and the drivers arrived on the grid for the anthem ceremony fourteen minutes from the start. This move will allow television channels a wider window for interviews, immediate impressions and technical insights on the cars positioned in the starting line. A change that according to Liberty Media will involve fans more in front of the TV.

Furthermore, during yesterday's meeting, the new technical regulations in favor of overtaking were approved. The aerodynamic innovations on the front wing, the front brake duct, the car's bargeboards and the rear wing are therefore confirmed.
